Can "pyar ka karz", the debt of love, ever be repaid?

All debts can be repaid - and almost difficult of all to repay is the debt of genuine love, under which a human being must for ever remain with head bowed and heart filled with gratitude.

"Pyar Ka Karz" is the story of the debt of love of Ravi Shankar (Mithun Chakraborty) for his dear friend Shakha (Dharmendra). Ravi Shankar's dream of becoming a famous singer and guitarist is fulfilled but his life goes through many storms and he meets three beautiful girls - Dr. Naina (Meenakshi Seshadri), Mona (Sonam) and Seema (Neelam).

Dr. Naina..... a beautiful lady doctor, she saves his life.

Mona...... a fiery terrorist, she must kill him, but loves him instead.

Seema..... a wealthy beauty who is tortured by a strange secret, he tries to save her but cannot.

There are debts of love to be paid amongst all these people. Ravi Shankar gets embroiled with a gang of terrorist and tragedy strikes. But nothing can keep a brave and honest man down. Eventually, Ravi Shankar triumphs against all odds and the "Pyar Ka Karz" (Debt of Love) which Ravi Shankar owes to his dear friend Shakha is finally repaid.
